At Microloop (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Microloop mobile application and microloop.co (collectively, the “Service”).

Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account information — email address and authentication identifiers when you sign in (for example via Apple, Google, or email).
• Profile and preferences — topics you follow, language, playback settings, and similar in-app choices.
• User content — prompts, topics, or files you submit to create stories; stories you save, bookmark, or choose to share on the feed when you make them public.
• Subscription information — purchase and entitlement status processed by Apple, Google, and our subscription partner (RevenueCat). We do not receive your full payment card number.
• Support — information you send when you contact us at hello@microloop.co.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Usage data — stories viewed, listening progress, interactions with features, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and improve the Service.
• Device and app data — device type, operating system, app version, and general region derived from IP address.
• Cookies and similar technologies — on our website, we may use cookies for essential functionality and to understand how visitors use microloop.co.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Generate and deliver narrated stories, illustrations, and related features
• Process subscriptions and verify entitlements
• Personalize content and remember your preferences
• Respond to support requests and send service-related messages
• Monitor trends, debug issues, and protect against fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your private prompts or documents to train third-party foundation models for unrelated products without your consent.

3. How we share information

We may share information in these situations:

• Service providers — hosting, authentication (for example Supabase), analytics, AI and media generation, cloud storage, email, and subscription management, who process data on our instructions and under contractual safeguards.
• Public content — if you mark a story as public, feed metadata and story content visible in the app may be shown to other users.
• Legal and safety — when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the Service.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
• With your consent — when you direct us to share information.

4. AI-generated content

Microloop uses automated systems to generate scripts, narration, images, and related media. Outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. We process your inputs and generated assets to provide the Service and store them according to your account settings and our retention practices.

5. Data security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential.

6. Data retention

We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You may delete your account in the app where available; we will delete or anonymize associated personal data subject to backup and legal retention requirements.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact hello@microloop.co. You may also manage marketing preferences and certain app permissions in your device settings.

8. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. International transfers

We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you consent to transfer and processing in those locations, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

10. Third-party links

The Service may link to third-party sites or services (for example app stores or sign-in providers). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information to them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
